How does Kinesiology work?
Kinesiology is the science of testing muscles and was developed in the 1960’s by Chiropractors. It allows us to evaluate and correct the motor responses of the central nervous system to create mental, physical, chemical and electrical balance. When an area of our health starts to decline mentally, emotionally or physically, we look closely at the functioning and why the muscle is unbalanced. Electrical receptors in the nervous system run throughout the body, constantly sending messages and as stress forms, these signals can often be misfired or blocked getting back to the brain.
Kinesiology helps to unblock the channels, connect the circuits and allow the messages to reach the brain. Headaches, digestion issues, hormonal imbalance, pain in the body, depression are all signs of your body’s last resort of asking for help.
*Note – We do not diagnose diseases, we work with the symptoms to identify the imbalances, in order to bring back a natural state of health to the body.
What to expect from a session?
Kinesiology uses a range of individualised, non-invasive techniques to bring the body back to a natural state of health. These techniques include a variety of – Acupressure (tapping or massaging the electrical points), cognitive emotional work, light touch therapies, nutritional support and body work to bring alignment back to the structural integrity of the body.
We explore various aspects of diet, sleeping patterns, physical/structural alignments, and any emotional stresses that may be affecting you.
Emotional/ psychological – what we think and feel affects our physical body. We can identify the patterns that are activating stress in your life which also trigger a physiological response.
Nutrition – not one diet is suited to everyone. Having certain foods will effect certain organs and can cause muscle weakness to those related areas of the body. We discover what food may be weakening muscles or causing disturbances throughout the body.
What to wear for a session?
Due to testing certain muscles with a wide range of movement throughout the treatment, please come dressed in comfortable, loose or flexible clothing. Ladies please wear shorts, leggings or long pants. Preferably no skirts or dresses. Gym clothes are fine for flexible movement.
